Disorient saw out the summer of '98 with this brilliant three-track excursion from the small but perfectly formed dancefloor scientist Ashley Beedle (the genius behind the Ballistic Brothers, Black Science Orchestra, Black Jazz Chronicles and X-press 2) his first release since the split of the Ballistic Brothers.
The A side is a gospel-led deeper than deep, dark funky monster; and perfect for some sophisticated dancefloor action. In brief an absolute stone-cold classic that journeys from upbeat city to breezy rural pastures.
On the flip, 246 Projects 'Deep In the Country' mix takes things even ... darker, with a bass-driven, blissed out, lovely-dubby thing. The final mix sees Takada returning past favours (for Ashley's mix on his last Disorient 12" - Sushi2), with the beautiful and chilled 'Summer Percussion' mix.
