A ESPERA

"A Espera" (click here for mp3)

"Last Dance" (click here for mp3)

Straight out of Tokyo comes the debut album for Disorient 'A Espera' from the stringstress and master of the violin and cello 'Chieko Kinbara'.

Originally classicallly trained and a member of the Tokyo philharmonic orchestra, Chieko found solace in Tokyo club land and broke away to cultivate her own sound, a fusion of dynamic classical strings, latin and world beats and soulful melodies all melted together with her distinctive bow of delights.

Produced by up and coming producer Yashushi Ide from Lonesome Echo production he brings in brazilian vocalist Liliana Chachain from Da-lata, Negrocan amd Arakatuba for title track 'A Espera' and 'O Sorriso Da Vida' for a dreamy summer landscape with Liliana's vocal drama.

String workouts and sun kissed beats are the backdrop throughout with dubbier flavours a foot with tracks like 'Last Dance'. DJ Nori from Tokyo gives 'La Vie En Rose' a dancehall bounce. Title track 'A Espera' get a reprise as the last track as with 'Osunlade' at the controls for the heavier dancefloor action.... summer has arrived!

Since bursting onto the scene as a established player Chieko has played with Bjork , 4 - Hero's Dj Spinna and producer Yashushi Ide. Check out Yasushi Ide's debut album 'Silver Ocean' with a all star cast also on Disorient.

A 'A Espera' (7.19)

B. 'O Sorriso Da - Vida' (5.31)

A Espera taken from Disorient's 5th year anniversary cd 'Ichi' is a haughting dancfloor gem while "O Sorriso Da - Vida" takes a more laid back approach from the sunshine of Rio with the perfect marrage of Chieko's strings and Liliana's vocals.

The remixes

A. A Espera (Yoruba Soul Mix) (6.15)

B. A Espera (Bayaka Mix) (12.51)

The on-form Osunlade, fresh from remixing Mercury award winner and hit maker Miss Dynamite delivers his most heavy remix yet. It's four-four action as we head straight to the abyss with a bottom end to die for Osunlade proves he is not letting up his grip of quality productions recorded and mixed with inspiration in his new home San Juan Puerto Rico.

On the B side Tokyo's 'Bayaka' flip over Chiekos string arrangement to pull it out over to a 13 minute pulsating workout to breakdown to Lilliana's trademark voice.
