HER FIRST ALBUM ON MR BONGO

 

The much anticiapted debut album from Brasil's first RnB diva, already sold 500,000 in Brasil she plans to take Europe by storm in June next year. Produced by the don of the new brasilian movement Max De Castro .

 

Paula Lima has been in the Brazilian soul-funk scene since her early teenage years. She remembers being sat in front of a black and white TV while her dad played Jorge ben and Gilberto gil on an old stereo.

 

She has sung with Jorge Ben, Funk Como Le Gusta & Mondo Grosso, She sung the title track to the Sundance Film Festival award winner "Amores Impossveis".

 

Standout tracks are:

 

Track 1,10 : Quero ver voce no Baile - . This track opena and closes the album with originaal offering a fresh face to brasilian funk. The dub at the end is driven by a hypnotic aldeoni bass line. Aldeoni is a legendary sought after carioca dub wizard. BandaBlack Rio thelp her with the brass and swing, Seu Jorge gives his pound of flesh.

 

Track 2 :Sai Daqui : Paulista Anderson Soares lends a deft house touch to this funk stormer.

 

Track 6: As Famosas Gargalhadas do Yuka Written by Brasil's own Barry White - Ed Motta. The crazed brasilian monk sao benitez tightens up the mix . Currently this mix has been hammered on radio one by Gilles Peterson now getting stuck into his fifth copy. Hungry boys.

 

Track 8. A Paz Danando na Avenida - composed by her friend Jorge Ben.
