WORK EXPERIENCE

We are always looking for extra help at Bongo HQ in Brighton. If you are interested please mail a CV and covering letter to graham@mrbongo.com or call the office on +44 (0) 1273 600546.

STREET ANGELS PROJECT MANAGER & FUNDRAISER

Street Angels UK was started in 1994 to support the grass roots community in Salvador, North-East Brazil and the issue of Brazilian street children and the conditions they face. In early 1994 Mr Bongo Records offered to promote the scheme in the UK, and registered Street Angels as a UK charity.

A Street Angels album was released on Mr Bongo to help raise money for the project.

The purpose of the project is as follows:

- To help marginalized women and adolescents to increase their income so that families can keep their children in school.

- To develop and maintain accessible educational and health-care programs designed for children and their families.

- To support local women in their efforts to organise democratic community development groups.

- To increase public awareness about the plight of children forced to live and work on the streets.

Currently the project is going from strength to strength on the ground in Brazil but due to a severe lack of time at Mr Bongo we have been unable to develop things further. We require someone to take on the project as their own and to raise funds and awareness worldwide through whatever methods they see fit

Ideas, drive and enthusiasm are essential. A good network of contacts is desirable but not essential. Must be computer literate and confident on the phone and face to face.

This position is voluntary, however, if in the future adequate funds are raised a wage can be paid. Hours are totally flexible.

If you are interested please mail a CV and covering letter to graham@mrbongo.com or call the office on +44 (0) 1273 600546.
