The third and fourth releases on our new 7" re-issue imprint 'Brazil 45s' are in stock now:

BRZ45.03
A. Noriel Vilela - 16 Toneladas b/w AA. Juca Chaves - Take Me Back To Piaui

Originally released in 1971 on Copacabana Records, Noriel Vilela's unique cover of Tennessee Ernice Ford's '16 Tons', originally a classic American pop-country-folk song from the 1940s, is highly sought after on 7". It features on his hard to find 'Eis o ôme' LP, recently re-issued (in 2002 and 2013).

Juca Chaves classic 'Take Me Back To Piaui' was released on 7" by RGE In 1970 and features on his album 'Muito Vivo' from from 1972. Chaves was an active critic of the Brazilian military dictatorship, and like Veloso and Gil, was exiled in the early 1970s, to Portugal and later Italy.

BRZ45.04

A. Sonia Santos - Speed b/w AA. Salinas - Tenha Fe, Pois Amanhà Um Lindo Dia Vai Nascer

Brazil 45 #4 is a Jorge Ben cover version double:

Sonia Santos samba-boogie version of Jorge Ben's 'Speed' was originally released in 1978 on RCA. The B side is a full on, albeit slightly cheesey, Disco medley entitled 'Ben Discotheque' featuring Jorge Ben's 'Chove Chuva', 'Mas Que Nada', 'Xica da Silva', 'Taj Mahal' and 'A Lua E Minha' amongst others.

Salinas version of 'Tenha Fe, Pois Amanhà Um Lindo Dia Vai Nascer' taken from the 1972 album 'Paz E Amor' has never been released on 7".

Don't sleep on the first two in this series, they are limited to 1000 copies and will sell out.
