After growing up in the countryside of Brazil, Bilku decided to move to Rio de Janeiro. Whilst working Bilk travelled to Quito in 1957 - this is where he’d meet Valencia and Benitez, the people that introduced him to the CAIFE label. Biluka is said to be the best to ever play the leaf. This record covers the 1960-65 period Biluka was in Quito.
