ALTERED SLATES

"Too Spaced Out" (click here for mp3)

"Dancing in Outer Space" (click here for mp3)

Atmosfear occupies a special place in the history of modern club music. A highly influential band creating a unique sound drawing from the past while oldy exploring the future. To debut with 1979's timeless, groundbreakiing, floorshaking and much sampled Dancing in Outer Space, ensured this would not be just another band. Atmosfear encompasses the essence of Jazz, Funk, Electronica, Latin, Reggae and Drum & Bass with equal skill and excitement.

Several of the early classics here are reshaped for the next century by masters of the remic genre - MASTERS AT WORK and DIMITRI FROM PARIS' tough, modern and respectful treatments of 'Dancing in Outer Space' and 'Motivation'. Altered Slates also contains Si Begg's outstanding cut-up of the eerie underground 'Alternative II', Ben Mitchell's remake of 'Extract' (Pete's Tongs: Record of the Year) and several other aural delights.

ATMOSFEAR VS IDJUT BOYS

The saga of Atmosfear continues ... while rummaging through old Atmosfear tapes recorded during the 80's, various grooves were unearthed which sounded so good it seemed criminal to let them waste away. The idea dawned that a production outfit could take these grooves and turn them into a slice of silky sex on wax. The Idjut Boys were the perfect guys to do this and have lent their bubbling, dubby, dense sound to the deep bassy grooves of Atmosfear.

Also included is Alternative II - a classic that sounds as strong now as it ever has and deserves to be available on vinyl. Last up is Atmosfear's mix of the Idjuts proving there's still an abundance of life in the cosmonaut.
