Funkadelic are one of the groups I really got into in my late teens, with the big man Eddie Hazel slaying that axe like a wild beast! He seems to fly under the radar for some reason, absolutely unbelievable guitarist and for me, the star of the show on this album. My favourite tracks are “I’ll stay”, “Red Hot Momma” and “Good Thoughts, Bad Thoughts” – each showing a slightly different side to my boy Ed’s genius. From driving Funk to wailing Blues, all passed through George Clinton’s one of a kind Psych brain. It’s a must listen!

Also worth checking out is Eddie Hazel’s solo album 'Games, Dames and Guitar Thangs'. It includes a brilliant version of 'California Dreamin’' and one of the best album covers of all time: He’s dressed as a Musketeer, holding his Les Paul, RIDING A HORSE in front of a Volcano.
